anslate">For many years there were changes for various requests from people and government determinations, the two neighboring villages names and category of municipality took turns until finally, by Ordinance No. 41 of 14 May 1936 , Olaya again their status as county seat.

Despite its proximity to Medellin Olaya tourism has not developed, as its municipal seat is one of the smallest of Antioquia, and has no farm-hotels and inns, a couple of residences.
