reorganized by the
Spanish conquistadors who commanded Torrezal Juan Diaz Pimienta , who was under
the command of the legendary Antonio de la Torre y Miranda .
They agreed the name of San José de Cienaga de Oro and reason
had 824 inhabitants. The name of Cienaga de Oro
would put the Spaniards and corresponded to the huge amount of gold found in
these lands. Which was coupled with the
ambitions of the Iberians who did not blush to exclaim: "The Spaniards suffer a heart which only gold cure".
They had already been plundering the lands of La Tota
and thirst for the precious metal had not been sated. Cienaga de Oro is located in the region Finzenú. Caribbean were natural origin. The cacique was painted with achiote and jagua to scare

In the former
territory commanded a cacique; the best known is called Panaguá and, as you know had a
dramatic end. This chief was surrounded by a
group of elders who fulfilled the role of directors. Power was herencial, was transmitted from father to eldest
son. After Panaguá the name of another cacique
is not known, as the Spaniards attacked fiercely and exterminated or dispersed
indigenous survivors, which prevented them from subsequent reorganization.
