class="notranslate">During 1945 the billionaire company Shell camping in this jurisdiction having as task to oil exploration, for which opened a route of entry, work that he came to give prosperity to the nascent town that same year received the category of Inspection Department Police .

In the early 1960s, the Incora in compliance with state policies at the time, led a colonizing front composed of about 60 families, into the region that became known as Arenales.

Castilla La Nueva is named after religious influence exercised by the parish of Acacías which depended ecclesiastically. The parish priest was Father Christopher Acacías Castillo. From him the name of Castilla La Nueva and San Cristobal inherited employer.
