History of Cachira

in 1811 , year of its foundation.

Under the same date, the famous village hosted the cause of independence, why, its founder was shot in Ocaña , sorted by Pablo Murillo .

In 1897 stands as the municipality, according to the Department of Ordinance No. 31 , 1896 , and later, by Decree No. 457 of May 16 of 1905 ; longer municipality to become township , annexing it to Ocaña .

Subsequently, by Order 011 of March 7 of 1911 , was again elevated to the status of municipality , part of the province of Ocaña . The main driver for this cause was Don Justo Leonidas Duran , and the first mayor of the new municipality was Don Timoleon Vargas , in the year 1912 ; its first priest was Rafael Ballesteros , in the year 1816
