Rancagua agricultural activities like growing corn , tomatoes , wheat , vegetables , among others, have allowed easy access of the population to foods that are the basis of the national cuisine, especially the existence of trade in free different parts of the city. Typical dishes abound in this area are corn pie , tamales , pies , beans , pie potato , carbon and roasted .

In the city are featured in some places as to its cuisine. The Caf� Queen Victoria , is a tradition of the local cuisine, with a wide range of pastries , and fast food Chilean ( complete, steaks , Chaparritas, etc.), The Old Rancagua , in the Paseo State , a place where the bohemian meets city and noted for its chorrillanas . In the central street Rubio is the Restaurant "La Pica of Aunt Julia" place where the best steaks in Rancagua and the best chili sauce for accompaniment; Leaving Rancagua south on the Route 5-CH , several traditional eateries Streets Services Autopista del Maipo , as the restaurant Mini Sheraton ( Gultro , Olivar ),  and the restaurant Juan y Medio ( Rosario , Rengo ). 

 Celebrations

 Every April is performed Champion of Chile , when the city received a massive influx of fans Chilean rodeo .

Each October 2 commemorates the Battle of Rancagua with a parade in the Estadio El Teniente in Rancagua. In this parade attended theArmed Forces and Carabineros de Chile , major city institutions, schools and colleges. It was in the context of this celebration when the then President of France , Charles de Gaulle visited the city of Rancagua, and witnessed by the Chilean president at the time, Jorge Alessandri , the parade on October 2 of 1964 (sesquincenario of the Battle of Rancagua .)

Throughout the month of October also performed the " Fiestas Rancag�inas ", which celebrates the anniversary of the city. Throughout these weeks are held several artistic, cultural, and recreational activities, culminating
