Previously Sirna Therapeutics had its headquarters and its laboratory in Boulder. In 2005 the company announced that it would move the headquarters to San Francisco. Sirna Therapeutics was acquired by Merck & Co. in 2006 in a cash transaction deal worth $1.1 billion
