Modern Bundoran

The growth of the holiday industry in the 20th century coincided with shorter working hours, more leisure time, more affluence and the development of activity based holidays. At the beginning of the 21st century Bundoran has continued to enhance its reputation by becoming Ireland's surfing capital and providing amenities like Waterworld which include seaweed baths. The seaweed baths were very popular with previous generations. The town also has many modern hotels, guesthouses, restaurants, night-clubs, bars and amusements. It also has sporting facilities such as golf and horse riding.
