problems. While the hydro-electric pumping plant continues directly and
indirectly to provide employment for the local population, the closure of the
Electrolux plant a couple of years ago has resulted in a considerable loss of
jobs. The commune is now planning to encourage the establishment of skilled
craft industries in the area by making land available for development.
