the other hand, the music of the ashyg is found in most places in northwestern
Iran and particularly in Tabriz, Maraghe, Khoy, and Orumïye (Rezaye). In Iran,
the primarily distinct styles of Mugam and the music of the ashyg "still

restricted to a pentachord (jins), readily identifiable modes, melodic lines
