 Rajasthan being India’s largest state, it would be better to travel via air if time is of the essence. Rajasthan has airports in all its major cities. The Sanganer Airport at Jaipur is the only airport in Rajasthan which caters to international flights. The other airports are Maharana Prathap Domestic Airport at Udaipur, Jodhpur domestic airport at Jodhpur, Jaisalmer Domestic airport at Jaisalmer, Kota domestic airport at Kota and Nal Domestic Airport at Bikaner.

Train

Overnight trains from Delhi and Mumbai reach most of Rajasthan’s major cities. Locations farther away may require a two day train. For those in search of a taste of Indian luxury, a better option would be to ride the famed Palace on wheels, which is a week long ride through Rajasthan in the most Luxurious of Trains in India. There is a newer alternative: Royal Rajasthan on wheels.

Road

The NH8 that runs through Rajasthan connects it to Delhi and Mumbai. This is the most popular way to travel to Rajasthan (Drive from Delhi not Mumbai). The NH is in excellent condition, and the drive offers a great view of the Thar
