Since pre-independence days, the city has had a relatively developed transportation network. The main mode of transport is cycle and rickshaw. However, in the last few years auto rickshaws, Savaris, Vans, Buses have also started as a means of local transport.
Air
The Jharsuguda Airport is under construction at Durlaga. Here before there was an aerodrome field which is now upgrading to Airport.
Rail
Jharsuguda railway station is a junction station on the Tatanagar–Bilaspur section of Howrah-Nagpur-Mumbai line and Jharsuguda-Vizianagaram line. The railway station comes under South Eastern Railway.
Road
Jharsuguda is connected to various towns of the states by State Highway 10 and National Highway
