First War of Independence, 1857

Abdul Rahman Khan was the Nawab of the Jhajjar estate and took part in the India's First War of Independence in 1857 against the British. In 1857 there lived a tribe of yousufzai pathan in jhajjar, headed by Shaheed Choudhary Akbar Ali Khan. Nawab Abdul Rehman was a warraich pathan and his grandfather Nijabat Ali Khan living in Delhi was awarded Nawabi of jhajjar in 1803 by the British as he helped the British in a battle. There was no community of warraichs in jhajjar so nawab Abdul Rehman depended on Choudhary Akbar Ali Kahn to have administrative control of jhajjar. Ch. Akbar Ali Khan used to collect Abiyana from 60 nearby villages. He was a very good administrator. In the war of 1857, Nawab Abdul Rehman requested Him to help him, with his tribe, to fight against the British as nawab had no warraich tribe. Ch. Akbar Ali Khan headed a panchayat and decided to fight against the British. Yousufzai’s were very brave and warriors. under the leadership of nawab and ch. akbar they fought so bravely that the British had to run away bare footed. But in other parts of India, British were conquering and when they conquered Delhi, they decided to dismantle nawab Abdul remand. some of the pathans living near bara drwaza and chuchakwas were in British army at that time. they provided the British information about nawab who was hiding in chuchakwas. At one night, the British arrested nawab Abdul remand from chuchakwas on specific information and put him in Delhi jail. but the informers of British wanted their family to be strong in jhajjar but it was not possible in the presence of choudhary akbar ali khan. so they went to Delhi and met the British and told them that nawab was only a puppet, it was ch akbar ali khan who fought with u and defeated. u will never get the hold of jhajjar unless u arrest ch akbar ali khan. so the British arrested ch akbar ali khan and killed
