A new bus service called "JMTU" was started by the Jalgaon Municipal Corporation on 15 August 2009. More than 10,000 people travel by the Ecobus daily. it is an economical bus service being operated by a private operator after paying some royalty to the Municipal corporation. When the services were started it was quite economic but subsequently within 5 months the fares were raised to considerable levels in the interest of the private operator
