History of Islas Plazas

JuteVilla
The plaza south of the island was formed by a lava flow from the ocean floor. Despite its small size is home to a large number of species and is famous for its unique flora. So, this island is very popular with local and foreign visitors. On the steep banks it is possible to see a large number of birds and swallow-tailed gulls, but above all, you can enjoy the beautiful view from atop the steep banks or strolling through the base of the cliff, Very attractive are the beautiful trees and prickly cactus and of course the large colony of Galapagos land iguanas. Depending on the season, the vegetation changes color from green in the rainy season to orange and purple in the dry season.
The flora of South Plaza includes Opuntia cactus and Sesuvium genres, forming a red carpet on the lava formations. Iguanas (land and marine and some hybrids of both species) are abundant, as are several varieties of birds that inhabit the rocky walls of the south side of the island, including tropic birds and swallow-tailed gulls
