Between 1817 and 1821 the Spanish were shot by the Tenzanos Esteban Avila, Jose Antonio Barahona, Domingo Barrera, Andres Bernal, José Antonio Bohorquez, Fernando Buitrago, Fermín Contreras, Juan Manjarrez, Juan Jose Medina, Juan Gabriel Mora, Diego and Juan Manuel Zamora Zea.

In 1817 the young Vincent and Almeida Ambrosio rose in the Valle de Tenza against the royalist government and formed the famous guerrilla that ravaged the Spanish ranks. Knowing Juan Samano of this attitude of rebellion against the crown of Spain, sent an army under the orders of Carlos Tolra.

These realistic powerfully armed prisoners were many and numerous patriots Tenzanos Valley were put to the sword.

With Bolivar fought Gameza, Pantano de Vargas and the heroes Boyacá Bridge Tenzanos Antonio Aguirre, Raymond Contreras, Victor Gomez, Domingo Jiménez, Andrés Salamanca, and Roque Bernardo Sarmiento Sarmiento.
