The territory of the present municipality of Taminango according to studies of regional historians, was inhabited in ancient times by indigenous people belonging to the group of Quillacingas, Paquinagos and Sindagua, whereby the ethnic variety was notable for the arrival of the Spaniards in the XVI century.

In the eighteenth century the territory of Taminango consolidates as Hacienda along the lines of the Spanish colonial government, assigned to Pedro de Adrada, which included places like Majuando, Manzano, Achapungo Palo Bobo, Guambuyaco, currently villages within
