Quipile is a word of Indian origin, whose language means strong and above all, do not have exact data on the date of its foundation, and its founder, but tradition teaches that the foundation took place in the year 1825 and draws José María Lozano as its founder.

It has to be the first settlements were inhabited by the indigenous people belonging Panche tribe, who originally named it in honor of Quipili chief of the tribe and had chosen the place as a protective measure and position of defense against the enemy.
