History of Puerto Triunfo

over the Magdalena river a place in the neighboring municipality of San Luis known as "El Triunfo". This place was then denominate Puerto Uribe, and the combination of these two appellations end eventually assigning the current name, Puerto Triunfo, as recently as the 70 Then in the growing town 1983 , the entire area around the town became National Tourist Reserve, given the landscape and ecological beauty it possesses.

The municipality, especially their township "Doradal" had its highest peak during the 80s, after which the region due to migration to other places, suffered a setback. It is now a major tourist book, because among other circumstances it is located on the strategic artery known as Autopista Medellín-Bogotá.
