In 1540, a Spanish lieutenant of the conquering troops of Marshal Jorge Robledo was charged with the goal of exploring the city starting Weapon north territories beside the river Cauca. This advanced explored a large territory now known as Southwest Antioquia, within which were the grounds of Pueblorrico today.

In 1825 a group of settlers from the city of Medellin led by Don Gabriel Echeverri, knowing this area offered the government purchasing vast lands in this jurisdiction and managed trading. Subsequently, another settler named Santiago
