Maripí is a municipality of Colombia located in the Western Province in
the department of Boyacá . It is
located 41 km from the city of Chiquinquirá , the capital of the province, and
119 kilometers from the city of Tunja department capital. Until
the early 1990s its economy was agricultural in nature, but since then, was
unveiled by the discovery and exploitation of deposits the emerald in its
territory.
