Iza Township is characterized by the preservation of its historical content, which is manifested in its ancestor prehispanic rock art, myths, legends, traditions, local place names, celebrations and crafts like weaving of cotton and wool, using practices and looms medieval Spain and in its colonial architecture set on a layout of its streets typically indigenous issues meant that its declaration as a Cultural national, by the Ministry of Culture of Colombia in 2002.
