The Coyaimas formed one of the cores of the vast nation Pijao , citizens of Colombia, living on both banks of the Magdalena River from the low Saldaña, which occupied the Ortega River and had a village of its still existing name for the valley of Neiva , formerly called the Valley of Sorrows and Tristura, to the ends of Timana .
