Vi�a del Mar has a wide range of museums and cultural events that make the city a place known inside and outside the country. The Artequin Museum of Vi�a del Mar , located in the Parque Potrerillos in Vi�a del Mar's mission is to bring children and youth in the region to the Visual Arts in an entertaining way. The Open Air Museum of Vi�a del Mar , inspired by the poetry of Gonzalo Villar and located in the Cerro Recreation, contains an interesting contemporary art expression, linked to the Green House Gallery The International Film Festival Vi�a del Mar is considered among the most important film festivals in Chile and Latin America. The amphitheater of the Quinta Vergara was built in 1960 and completely rebuilt in the early years of the 2000s. Also is the Palacio Vergara, with a major art gallery. Trees are set around various exotic species introduced there in the nineteenth century when it was still the Hacienda of the Seven Sisters. The Municipal Theatre of Vi�a del Mar , located opposite the Plaza de Vi�a, is a center of cultural and artistic events of the first importance in Chile. In the neighboring block is also the traditional and elegant Club de Vi�a, with a beautiful classical facade. The Museum of Naval Canyons is an outdoor museum, located on the straight Jorge Montt (connecting Vi�a del Mar with the resort of Las Salinas Re�aca), whose beach is exhibiting several pieces of artillery, in front of the premises of the Chilean Navy . The Fonk Museum , located at 4 North, is a museum which displays artifacts from Chile , mainly from the culture of Rapa Nuiand Mapuche .

Palacio Carrasco
The Palacio Carrasco and its surrounding park, located on Liberty Avenue # 250, between 3 and 4 North, was completed in 1923.For years it was a private residence until she moved to the Municipality of Vi�a del Mar. After moving it to its current location in Arlegui street, the Palacio Carrasco became host Mackenna Library,
